Australian Christian Book of the Year Awards. Details given for:

These annual awards are open to Australian books published since 1st April in the previous year and before 31st March in current year, which have not previously submitted.

Entries are read and judged with an eye to:

  • The original nature of the work.
  • The literary style, including suitability for the target audience.
  • The competence and expertise displayed by the author in writing the book and
    examining the underlying thesis.
  • The overall design, layout, cover, text and illustrations.
  • The contribution that the book makes in meeting a need in Christian writing for the Australian situation.

Publishers need to submit four copies of each title which they wish to enter for the current year's prize, together with a fee for administration in the form of a cheque for $50 for each title.

Books and cheques are to be in the hands of ACLS at the following address prior to 31st March for the Australian Christian Book of the Year and the Australian Christian Theological Writers Award. Manuscripts for the Young Australian Christian Writers Award are due prior to 31st May.  Awards are usually announced in August.
